>I'm really only interested in truth about Amsoil, Consider this--if AMSOIL was making false claims in comparing AMSOIL to other synthetic, don't you expect that the other oil manufacturers would have successfully sued them over the past 30 years? I've been using AMSOIL for over 24 years, extending the drain interval as recommended, and never had a lubrication related problem. Doesn't help keep windshields from breaking if rocks hit them, doesn't keep bulbs from burning out .>Can any car be fitted with a bypass oil filter? In theory, yes. In practice, it becomes difficult to find a location site for bypass filters in many applications. In my own opinion, bypass filters are well worthwhile if one has equipment which operates 30-40 hours (or more) per week, or if one has diesel and/or turbo. In normal, typical Harry Homeowner operation, the bypass is a toosup. Just change the AMSOIL yearly (or other synthetic as recommended) and you'll do fine.
