No one ever said in the original post regarding Space Shuttle usage of Mobil 1 that it was used in a gasoline internal combustion engine. But Bob wants to be smartass, so he got a smartass answer in reply. As Eric has stated, there are many items that needs lubrication on the Space Shuttle, and some of them are part of the engine which rotates as required to provide guidance control.
