Subject: Re: check gearbox light

Wecome to the club! I have the new style 94 900s with the exact same problem. The light comes on more often when it is cold outside (NH mornings). After searching newsgroups/bulletin boards endlessly for an answer, I have narrowed it down to either the r/r/ trans switch or the neutral safety switch (may be the same switch). I am sure it is electrical. One bad connection somewhere is causing the trans to go into 'limp' mode and it cuts out the ignition on a restart. Mechanically the trans performs great. The r/r switch = $300 & $150 labor. I tried spraying it with WD50 to make sure it is free to rotate (it's under the battery) when I shift. Didn't help. Good luck ... keep us posted. Mike P.S. Has anyone fixed this problem? Please help us out! Where is the neutral safety switch??
