Why are there so many complaints about > the shift-up light? > This made me think of the reason I *like* the shift up light on our '86 900. The shift up light on this model has two inputs: coolant temperature sender (I can't remember exactly which one; I think it's the one that triggers at 95 degrees F) and engine vacuum. This is useful because if the light is working I know that there is no serious vacuum leak and that the temperature sender is working properly. Good things to keep track of on a car w/200,000+ miles.
