I am not very savvy when it comes to cars, but I will try to include as much information as I believe is pertinent. I have a '97 Saab Aero 2.3L Turbo Automatic with 82,000 miles. Issue (about 2 weeks old): When cruising in 3rd or 4th gear (40-60 mph), and I punch the gas, the turbo indicator goes just into the yellow/red alternating area (never above), and the vehicle stutters briefly, but continuously. If I am in 4th gear, the problem occurs when it downshifts into 3rd. If I am in third, I really need to punch it for the stuttering to happen. Additional info: - I still am able to accelerate quickly, but until I ease off the gas and the turbo indicator reads 3/4 yellow, the stuttering continues. - I use premium gas, clean air filter, regular oil changes. - The problem NEVER occurs while accelerating while in 1st or 2nd. - My turbo indicator NEVER, NEVER, NEVER reaches into the solid red (and rarely, if ever, deep into the yellow/red alternating bars). - In April, I had the head gasket, radiator, and AC control unit replaced. - After parking, I notice that my radiator fan is blowing, even though the temperature indicator NEVER, NEVER, NEVER reaches the horizontal position or higher. - I just had my alternator replaced as a result of diagnosing an issue where my radiator fan stayed on all day and drained my battery. From reading posts, it could be: APC valve? Wastegate? Spark Plugs? Distributor? Transmission? I have little faith in my dealer (Just Saab, East - Cincinnati, OH). I reported the problem at the same time as I had the alternator replaced, and they returned the car as fixed, but the problem presented itself within 2 miles of the dealer. Please help!
