Under "normal" use, there is no increase in noise. With your foot on the floor there is slightly sporty note to the exhaust, but still quite acceptable. On the motorway you won't notice the difference. My cat was replaced with a single SAAB exhaust, as the straight pipe alternative is, I believe, noisier.
