Subject: Re: Can a 1999 Style Key work in a 2001 9-5?

The cost to me was $31.25 for each key, $25 for each transponder and $44.50 to get the car to recognize the two new transponders. A total of $157 plus 5% Mass. sales tax on parts. The first set of keys they made would unlock the car but would not lock it. Something I could have lived with if the 90 second delay to auto arm was an option anymore. So they ordered another pair of keys. They popped the chips out of the miscut keys and slapped them in the redone set of keys. I gave one of the 1999 style keys to my father. And now carry with me one of the 1999 style keys along with the remote entry key. The other remote entry will be kept as backup and for safekeeping. I don't ever want to go through reprogramming over losing one key.
