GM wants a return on its investments, and I think it has a great investment in Saab. Most car makers dream of the following that Saab enjoys worldwide. That isn't something that you can easily build. Every car maker needs a luxury brand, too. GM is actually fortunate because it has a few cars that have their own cultures, such as the Corvette, the Camaro (until they kill it at the end of this year) and now Saabs. I don't know much about the Australian market, but apparently Holden, which I think is only in Australia, is a marque that GM is finally beginning to see as an innovative producer of nice cars. JJ
