Subject: ?Ideas on some non-working dash indicator lights on 1995 Saab 900s....?
Hi I have at least 2 dash lights which may be failed.... any thoughts
appreciated:
First, it looks like there is supposed to be a parking light indicator
on the dash above the tach or speedometer (similar to the high-beam
indicator). I know the dash has some places for dashlights that may
or may not be relevant on all models (such as TCS indicator or
Winter/Sport indicators which are only relevant to an automatic
transmission (I have a standard)). Anybody w/ a non-turbo mid-90s
900s 5-speed that can confirm that the parking light indicator is
actually supposed to light up when the parking lights are activated?
(Incidentally, the owner's manual curiously doesn't seem to mention
this light on the dash at all!)
Second, the indicator inside my rear fog lamp panel switch doesn't
light up on activating the rear fog lamps. (The lamps work, and their
indicator on the dash does as well.) I also know that the indicator
bulb in the switch itself is OK because by switching it with the front
fog lamp switch indicator bulb it lights on activating the front fogs.
One thing that might be the culprit- I noticed that the wiring block
on the switch is wired slightly differently. They're both the same
except on the front switch, hole 7 is used while on the rear there's a
wire going into 8. Can anybody confirm that the wiring to the
front/rear fog panel switches should follow similar convention? It
seems like wires should go to the same holes since the switches would
seem to be so similar.
Thanks for help on either,
