However, during the two years that I owned it, there were no significant repair costs (unlike my current 1996 Saab 900SE). Having owned quite a few American cars during the time I've lived in the U.S., I consider that a great deal of the criticism of them is based on nothing more than pro-European snobbery. Since my origins are European, I don't have to worry about that. If U.S., or Japanese, manufacturers start to market a mid-sized four-door hatchback, I'll gladly consider it.
