You have the exact problem I had on my deceased '89 900S, RIP. The AC pulley gets too close to the tee shaped coolant hose. The pulley touches the hose only during starting the engine, not while the engine is running. But given enough time, a pin hole is produced. SOme said it was the engine mounts which went bad that resulted in the AC pulley touching the hose. But I didn't buy it. You have to remove the AC compressor to install the tee shaped hose. I don't think you can do it with the compressor in place. Removing the compressor bolts is also a pain too. I heard there was a service bulletin by SAAB to fix it. It involves affixing an aluminum thin gage plate to wrap the hose where it could touch the pulley. But that was before I found that out such bulletin exists. So I fixed it myself. My solution was to slot the holes (there are four I believe) for the AC compressor bracket and move the compressor over a little. I paid $30 to a machine shop. You don't need much, about 1/4". Maybe less. Since the culprit is the AC compressor, I guess you can remove it if it is not working, you don't plan to fix it and you can stand the summer heat without it. In my case it was working fine and because I cannot drive the car without it in the summer either. What became of my 900S? It was destroyed in a car fire this past summer on a Saturday afternoon after I washed the engine with a garden hose. My own stupid mistake. I don't mean washing the engine of course. But by flooring the gas pedal when the car idled poorly because water got into the system either by shorting the ignition wire or something else after I started the car two hours later. Funny things no one else in the family missed the car except me. It died at 155k. Yaofeng
