As it turns out, I have an '86 9000 turbo (5spd), and like it quite a lot for the following reasons: 1. For being 15 years old, it's pretty darned reliable, and in general is holding up pretty well. I'd venture to say that you'd have a hard time finding a car in better shape after 15 years of being a daily-driver. 2. It's got an awful lot of get up and go. I can't quote 1/4 mile times; but it still has the ability to shove me back in the seat. Original motor and tranny, too. 3. If something does break, it's fairly easy to fix, so long as you've got a decent set of metric tools. I had a '94 Oldsmobile before my Saab, and you had to have a factory tool ($$$) to change the bleedin' serpentine belt. Some things are going to be tough to get at without pulling the motor, granted, but if you take a close look at how the car is put together, you'll see that Saab went out of it's way to make it easier to work on the car. 4. If you get stuck not knowing what to do about your broken Saab, there's an extremely helpful on-line community of DIY'ers that have been in my experience very willing to help a guy out. 5. I can fit a 6' long folding table in the car, and close the hatch. I can fit tons more on top of that. 6. All of the above, plus my insurance and taxes are really low, since I only paid $2500 for it when I bought it a few years ago. Just my $.02. <agRdohcDXnopsamv.net> wrote in message news:21308-3C3A7F60-185nopsamefull-163.iap.bryant.webtv.net... > nevermind.....i hear they are the biggest PIECE OF SHITS on the > planet....the new ones are aight.they told me they suck so much its in > competetion with a yugo and a rusted pinto... > > Send > Another > Automobile > Back >
