the heater wire probably finally broke. There is a FAQ on www.saabnet.com which details the Fix. In short, you have to skin the seat bottom (where it usually breaks) ans find the break, solder it back together and put the cover back on. I have fixed 2 and both were on the lower pad left of the center on the forward edge. It is where the cushion gets worked getting in and out.
