The rest of the time, all season tires do the job just fine. Plus, with snows on, you end up driving around on absolutely horrible tires for 3 months out of the year. I realize that I compromise a little on the upper edge of performance in the summer by using an all season. Now, to the tough part, finding the tires. I mounted Pirelli P7000 Supers last year. "Ultra high performance" all seasons according to the literature. Wonderful in the dry, wet, and snow. Unfortunately they wear quickly. I don't expect much more than 20K out of this set and I'm not a very aggressive driver. Unfortunately there is not a lot of choice for upper end all seasons in a 205-50-16, so, I'm still looking for the "next" tire. Bob
