To jump the fuel pump relay make a jumper from a medium gauge wire, 16 will work, with a male spade connector on each end (you can just strip a bit of insulation off, flatten the wire and poke it in the holes, but this is a poor connection and may spark). Remove the relay, which is under the plastic cover near the coolant tank, and connect two of the four plugs with the jumper. The two you want are perpendicular to each other, 3 and 2 in the figure below. _3 | | | 2 It has been a while since I had my 1980 T and I believe you need to turn the key to the "ON" position and then the pump will run continuously. Keep the fuel container as far away from the jumped relay as possible in case of sparks. Test setting this up before you open the fuel line.
