Subject: Re: Need Help with '84 900 Front Brake Problem

Look at the pads. Look for uneven wear. Is there a pedal vibration when braking from higher speeds? It may be worn/warped disks which can help in causing the vibration/noise. Your car has odd (compared to most other cars) front brakes which have the parking brake on the front brakes. This can bind and in conjunction with the yoke can cause a clunk when backing up. these links may help understand what is going on.
