Subject: Quality of Saab vs competition

I own a 2000 Saab 9-5 SE and am generally happy with it. No car is perfect but so far the only thing to go wrong is one burned out headlight and a minor cooling leak problem after 20,000 miles. This was repaired without question under warranty. I am asking for opinions on how a newer model Saab compares to comparable near-luxury models? I would like to think that my expensive purchase was worthwhile. What is the long term prognosis for this Saab in the next 10-15 years in terms of remaining solid and in terms of expected repairs? I tend to keep cars until it is too painful anymore in terms of rust and reliability. I live in Cleveland Ohio and we unfortunately use rock salt in the winter to melt snow. This salt is very corrosive to metal. Most of the cars around here die due to this salt, mostly in the body panels and sometimes in the frame itself. The engines almost never were out before the bodies. Since most people that read this newsgroups are probably Saab owners or lovers I wonder how objective the responses will be? Anyway I look forward to your opinions, both good and bad.
