Yes, the cleaning does help, but it also puts much higher voltage through the plugs, which is why the NGK plugs are always recommended. The normal voltage through a DI cassette is also higher than other vehicles' ignition systems, and I've been told by dealers that regular plug changes always help. Works for me.
