Subject: Testdrive

I am looking for a car with ~ 170bhp engine. I driving different FORD's now for a long time. So I decided to take th Mondeo 2.5V6 for a testdrive. Very good road handling but the V6 didn't convince me at all. OK, let's try the S60 2.4-170bhp. Very comfortable but the engine awakes only beyond 3000 - 3500rpm. and the seats are so soft that I had the feeling I could never step out of the car. For a good position the steering wheel has to be pulled all the way out, which does help either to crawl out of the car. Not talking about the opening of the boot. Well how about SAAB? I always liked the design of the 9-3 but never looked at it because I thought it was to small. So I stepped in the car and the first impression was a perfect seating position with the steering wheel and all the stuff you normally have to use in the right position. The car felt bigger inside then it looks outside. I wanted to drive the 185bhp model, but only the 150bhp model was available. After 10 yrds of driving already a big smile appears on my face. What? 150bhp. Compared to the Ford and Volvo it feels like 250bhp! OK the road handling is not as good as the Mondeo nor has it the comfortable ride of the S60 but what it definitely has is that it gives the driver an emotion/ feeling that your body screams YES, YES! I will drive the 185bhp next week and will let you know what I think of that one. It seems that I will join the club soon! BTW. Because the new model will be launched in Sep. They load the car up with options and even lower the price as well! -- John
