Another possiblity is the "evaporator anti-freeze thermostat". The evaporator is the "cooling coil" in the A/C system, which cools the air and removes moisture from it. The thermostat is there to prevent the evaporator from going below the freezing point and becoming a huge ice cube. It's supposed to cut-off the A/C if it drops to about 34 degrees F and turn it back on at about 38-40. If the thermostat gets flaky, it can allow the evaporator to warm to the point where it starts sending moisture back into the car, fogging the windows (and making the occupants *really* uncomfortable in the summer). It's not a hard problem to diagnose - put a thermometer in one of the vents, set temp to "lo" and the fan on a medium speed. If it's working right, the thermometer will show a steady temperature of 35-45 degrees F, depending on the weather. If it's not you'll see the temperature vary, often erratically. Good news is the 'stat is easy to replace and fairly cheap (US$20.00 aftermarket).
