Julian...there are a number of fairly well documented possible causes for this problem. Have a good look on this and other NGs for details, but possible causes include:- 1. Having the 'recirculation' button pressed on the ACC control panel. This is cheap to fix - any easy diy job. 2. Leaky heater matrix - not always as obvious as it sounds as the leak only needs to be minor. 3. External water leaks into the car, raising the overall humidity - ACC then fails to cope. 4. Dead or malfunctioning recirculation motor, which opens/closes a flap within the system. Listen carefully when you turn the ignition on (without starting the engine), and you may hear the faint whine as it does its job. 5. Blocked drain in the bulkhead - need to remove the plastic cover and check drain is not full of dead things. Pour some water into the area and check it runs out. This is a real pain - I had same prob for over a year. Problem turned out to be (4). Best of luck....
