Can I do this myself or do I need to >> go to a dealer and have them charge me $$ for a 2 minute job? If I can >> do it, how? My dealer reprogammed mine for me - took about a minute, with no charge (about 3-4 months after I bought the car). He just plugged the handset-thingy into the port on the steering column, pressed a few buttons and that was it! There are several volume settings for the bleeps, and the single blast of the horn that signifies a double lock. I have had mine turned down to the lowest setting, so that it bleeps very quietly. At the same time, I also had it set up so that when locked, a single press on the key fob only unlocks the drivers door, and you press twice to unlock the rest - just a safety precaution, but I very nearly got car-jacked and wanted the extra level of security. Oh, all this was done on a 2000MY 9-3 SE Cabrio. Hope that helps, H.
