Subject: 91 coolant probs

The saab I acquired has two problems. First is the leak comming from what I believe is the cylinder head gasket. So far I've dealt with this problem by adding some coolant every week or so. The second problem has to do with flushing the cooling system. Following the directions in the Bentley Saab book, I removed the radiator cap, the drain plug on the radiator, and the drain plug on the engine block. The problem is this, when I remove the drain plug on the engine, only a couple of drips come out! I added coolant with the engine running to see if any more would come out of the hole, but there was nothing, jut the couple of drips. I have also noticed that only about 5 liters of coolant come out of the engine when it is supposed to hold ten. My guess is that there is some sort of rust blockage in the waterjacket. What is the best way to deal with this problem? I may be taking the cylinder head off to replace the head gasket, is there anything I can do with the head off that would help the situation? Craig
