Plenty of NGs I frequent don't mind small binaries for specific purposes.. i.e less than about 25-30k, (despite use-net etiquette) however this NG doesn't appear too happy about binaries. The reasons have previously been mentioned, and they're fair enough. Sometimes I scratch my head however when off the topic discussions occur and each subsequent re-post is about 8k, thereby blowing off messages in the same way as a binary would. That's another story though. The other aspect is that some news readers are purely text based, hence the reader cannot view anything other. A tad antiquated IMHO, but that's another story again. Despite my opinions, in the interest of the NG, I'd suggest a link to the picture. I'm more than happy to post it on a site.
