Subject: Re: Automatically locking doors?

I disconnected the power lock on the tailgate of my wagon. This way, the only way you can access the rear cargo area from the outside is with the key in hand - and NOT in the ignition. How many of you have the absolute faith in the Park position and parking brake to stand behind a car with a running engine? Read your Owner's Manual. I certainly would not stand behind a car with a manual in neutral and only the parking brake holding the car - with the engine running. I would suspect more people are injured by 'accidents' like this than by all of the car jackings in the world - and the car maker gets blamed every time.
