>Those are the only questions I can think of at the moment. I welcome any >information comparing the VW 1.8T to the Saab turbos also. Whilst at first glance the two engines may seem similar, all of the available Saab turbo engines will suprise you in comparison to the VW 1.8T. To put it mildly, they are very powerful and responsive engines, yet remain smooth and economic. Put it this way, even the base-level 150bhp turbo from Saab still propels the 9-3 0-60 in 8 seconds, a quicker time than the standard Golf 1.8T, and in a much larger car! As for the Viggen, well that is going to knock another second and a hlaf or so off that time, so you are going to feel like you're rocket-propelled! All this whilst still getting 30 or so MPG. My 2000 9-3SE Convertible has virually no squeaks or rattles despite being a ragtop and having put 30k miles on in in 20 months, and yes I have had a few niggling faultss, but they have been quickly and efficiently dealt with by my dealer under warranty. As far as I'm aware, on the Viggen practically the only choices you have on the options list is a sun-roof and paint colour, everything else is standard - another thing that will shock you coming from practically any other car manufacturer! As far as resale value goes, it miht be worth considering the Lightning Blue colour - quite apart from being a nice colour, it's also unique to the Viggen, so will make you car stand out that little bit more. Hope some of this helps, H.
