As you describe it, i assume your car has the Bosch K-jetronic injection system. It seems that your mixture adjustment is way out. I had the same pronblem with my 900 T8 and following the repair manual instructions by setting a base adjustment, didn't work at all. What i then did was turning the mixture screw (located between the air-intake and the mixture control unit) fully anti-clockwise (lean mixture) and then start turning it clockwise by half a turn. After each half a turn, i started the engine, until i hit the point where the engine would run, although very rough. From there i only applied one sixth of a turn (be careful, the adjustment is VERY sensitive). By doing so, i managed to get a smoothly running engine again. Before you start this procedure, make sure that you feel no resistance, when lifting the airflow sensor plate. The slightest resistance is already causing problems. If so, adjust the airflow sensorplate to the centre and see to it that the plunger in the mixture control unit is free from resistance (clean it with petrol, if necessary). I hope this helps. Good luck. Johan Jared Talarico <Marsh.hawknopsamzon.net> schreef in berichtnieuws 8YOn8.5329$n%1.1042nopsamdc03.gnilink.net... > We bought a used 1990 900 s [non turbo] with 177,000 miles.
