I cannot find any info that states the auto gearbox does not have the overboost feature, and in fact this link http://www.buscentre.com.au/lifestyles/motoring/saab_aero.htm implies that it does. Also, I'm not sure why it would be necessary to disable it on the auto; the Aisin AW 50-5ECT-i 5-speed auto gearbox is also used on several other cars that make more torque than the Aero, including the Volvo S80.
