It is attached right to the frame of it and is actually your only grount. Also check the single "+12V" charging lug connection. Anyway, if your ground comes lose, no more charging. My wife's 1988 900 did this and I fixed it by connecting a new ground. So in other words, check the obviosu an easy stuff. The "is it plugged in" kind of stuff. Patrick
