My dealer says it can't be done. Anyone know > differently? Augie. The current key is "three things in one", the key, the security transponder, and the remote control. Up to model year 2000 the key was slightly smaller (but still too thick for the wallet) and was just a key and a security transponder. The remote control was separate. If the security transponder is missing the key will not be able to start the engine. If you make a flat key (without a security transponder) then the key can only be of limited use. Saab used to include a flat key, but haven't since the security transponder was added to the key. -- G–ran Larsson http://www.nospam.com
