Nothing really different from your average Volvo 850/s70. One design detail is that the turbo resides in the front of the engine where it is cooler. I cannot quantify if this makes them live longer or shorter in the Saab, but it is a cooler environment to live in than in the Volvo which has it right next to the firewall at least on my neighbor's V70T5 otherwise read between... The DI cassette is the only thing that may be costly or listed in any alarm list. It can be pretty expensive, but plug gapping seems to slow this. regardless, they usually live 125kmi+ Dad's replaced at 125k, Mine was going strong at 50kmi when I sold my '96 900SE > > Air Filter Replacement See tune up - normal stuff. Make sure that the more expensive interior air filter is changed. This is 40.00 IIRC. Pretty easy to do, but you do need a screwdriver. > > Spark Plugs See tune up > > Any other general service associated with owning a Saab. nothing out of the ordinary for a FWD $30k car. I think that the SID display (alpha display of warnings etc) can have problems with dead pixels if that bothers you and the ACC can be pretty expensive to replace if it does go bad. THis is a hit or miss sort of thing, but does happen enough to be of concern. It may well have been 'fixed' in the 9^3, but my '96 has 3 of them all replaced under warranty in <50kmi! I think they are about 800.00, but consult saabnet to see if this is a problem. www.saabnet.com/bb/9-3 > Any information you could provide would be helpful. > > > > Thanks.
