Subject: Re: Thinking about a SAAB

I ummmed and ahhhed for years before I bought my '97 900 SE Turbo Taladega Coupe Sensonic(It's a good job that's not all on the tailgate, otherwise it would be coming back up the sides!) last summer. I regret having waited so long, It's ace! Get a test drive, you are unlikely to be disappointed. I find it understeers a bit much in 'enthusiastic' driving, and there's a bit much body roll for my taste, but it's very comfortable. Also stable at high speeds (assuming you're on the Autobahn or private roads, naturally...) As for gimmicks, I'd say it has none whatsoever. A gimmick it a simple marketing trick to make you think you have more than you have, but get bored with in a few days. It is, however, jam-packed with 'stuff', and very useful stuff at that! Off the top of my head, I have: Cruise Control Air-con Leather seats electric sunroof height-adjustable drivers' seat adjustable steering wheel Semi-auto gearbox electrically-adjustable headlight level (not auto) 'Black panel' display (all the instrument lights bar the speedo go out at night, thus reducing eye-strain. The on-board computer monitors everything and tells you if there's anything that might need your attention) Oh yeah, the on-board computer Every time I look in the handbook I find something new. And I've never been disgraced at the lights by the kids in their hotted-up shopping cars! Although there was once an incident with a Scoobie... And all for 7500 Sterling!
