Subject: Re: Heater Matrix Failure on 9000

I know NeoBrothers. In fact I bought my as yet unfitted replacement Heater Matrix from them. They do indeed know Saabs, so I think you can have confidence in their estimate. To my best knowledge the Heater Matrix will not actually leak into the car though, as you are most likely already aware, you get a strong smell of hot maple syrup when using the heater. Corroded heater matrices are a known problem on the 9000CS/CDs (maybe also on the 9000 before them?). Your overheating problem may have be a factor in accelerating the failure, though it was always going to happen anyway. Mine has always run cool, and it was certainly not immune.
