To nit pick, the "Audio" CDR blanks are really intended to be used with consumer level CD recording "decks" (the units that hook into your stereo system like a cassette deck) which utilize the SCMS system (do a web search if you are interested in the details). These consumer recorders can not use standard computer CDRs and must use the "Audio" ones. For computer CDR recorders and many pro-level audio CD recording gear, you can still use the "Audio" ones, but as you pointed out, you would just be wasting your money and should stick to normal computer CDRs.
