Well, actually if you just filed it off, the raw metal on the pins is very
prone to oxidation. I'm not sure how hot that connection gets, but
depending on temperature conditions I would try either the Caig Labs
DeOxit D-5 or ProGold GXL on the contacts after you clean it to protect
the surfaces.
