This disappeared completely after I had the front pads replaced and some work done for the MOT, including the OSF CV boot replaced. I've also recently had all the shocks replaced with gas filled and the ride is just great now - it glides :) Interestingly enough, regarding the vibration, my 1989 900 Turbo has a vibration problem which starts at 50mph and disappears at 60mph. This is a quite violent side-to-side vibration/shudder felt throughout the whole car, but I also get a little rattle when setting off in first gear. We could be having similar issues. Hope the part about the brakes helps. Regards, Paul 1985 900i 16V 1989 900 Turbo
