It has been posted several times. Even just some days ago in this very thread. SAAB used to stand for Svenska AeroplanAktieBolaget, the Swedish Aeroplane Company. This is no longer relevant as GM bough the automobile manufacturing part of Saab from Saab, so now the name of the automobile manufacturing Saab is Saab Automobile AB and the name of the aircraft manufacturing Saab is Saab. -- G–ran Larsson
