The leak was on under side of a small diameter pipe from the manifold, apparently carrying a vacuum signal to a sensor. The pipe was spilt at the end, but the split was hidden from view. I only found it by carefully listening for noises. I cut off an inch of the pipe and refittet. No more fluctuating idle. Johannes http://users.surfanytime.co.uk/johs
