Hi,
Are you sure its the ECU at fault. Other causes are
a vacuum / pressure leak due to bad vacuum hoses
or connections or a sticky AIC valve. The AIC valve
can be removed and cleaned up with carb. cleaner
or something similar.
If you want/need to get the ECU fixed you might find it
cheaper to get a recovered one from a salvage yard.
Here in the UK I've been quoted between 80 and 150
UKP.
