Singular commercial postings are not welcome since this can only escalate. If they were tolerated, this proportion of messages would get out of hand, and we would not be able to have topical discussions and reflections that are the basis for usenet. We can all exchange opinions on various product and maybe plug our own now and then, but using the newsgroup as a commercial billboard is clearly an abuse. Not only that, it is also counterproductive as it shows the bad sense of the outfits. They can also expect some deserved micky taking from seasoned newsgroup members like David & others, that can't do their product any good either. Johannes http://users.surfanytime.co.uk/johs
