Check the following-At high speed-60mph+ floor the gas pedal and keep one eye in rear view mirror for smoking from turbo as the car decelerates, you'll have to push the revs though-smoking is a sign of not a broken turbo mind you but definitely an ageing/wearing turbo. If you never had a turbo model before expect to be impressed/shocked by the power boost when it kicks in-again if you don't get that pushed to the back of the seat feeling then it's not set up correctly or malfunctioning. Check for rust in the frame inside the boot/trunk lid-a suspect area. Make a turn left and right on full steering lock and listen/feel any grinds or bumps thru steering column, check all dash panel lights operate,if the carhas cruise control check it works(maybe a chance to knockprice own!!) Finally check the old chestnuts-mileage,wear on gas pedal(for signs of a hammering) and the condition of the drivers seat for the same reason.Goodluck.
