The problem it that the cable that pulls the release either stretches or breaks. If the lever still pulls but just does not release, then the cable is stretched. There is a TSB on this problem which involves adding a couple of washers to the cable to take up the slack. That's not too tough a job, from what I understand. I had mine done under warranty so I can't speak personally about the amount of work. Honestly, it did not help all that much as it was still a tough pull on the cable. When I went back to the dealer, they suggested replacing tha cable but I recall the service manager saying "you're going to have to leave it for at least a day if he's going to have to open up that seat". So, I think the cable replacement is a big job. BTW - after replacement, it was like a new seat had been installed. Bob
