To make sure they are not leaking! Seriously, the matrix sits in an enclosure that slopes slightly such that any leaks cause it to sit in a pool of coolant. This is then carried into the car to mist up the screen etc. I was surprised to find no less than 4 clips, as the hoses from the engine bay were connected to the matrix via 2 purpose made stubs, not apparent until the false bulhead was removed. The matrix was not leaking, but the clips hadn't been tightened enough. Could save you some work...... It is fiddly and time : consuming. You don't need to disconnect the a/c, which is certainly : inadvisable anyway, but this does make it harder. You might want to check : that the heater hose clips behind the false bulkhead are tight first. : Chris <<Clipped>>
