Subject: Re: Wife buying '02 9-3 SE convertible . . .what should I keep an eye on??

I'll chime in with everyone else - complete B.S. In my '98 900SE I NEVER let the turbo cool down before turning off and traded that one just before 50K miles for a 2001 Viggen - never anything but scheduled maintenance and oil changes. For the deal you are getting (hopefully, if you've done your homework), on a car with those features, it's a fabulous car, that has basically all of the major kinks worked out of it since the 9-3 platform is in it's 4th year with 2002. If you haven't found it yet, post your questions to http://www.saabnet.com as there's TONS of information there as well. Don't let the complaints you see phase you - the number of people posting to say "man, may car is perfect!" are pretty few - doesn't mean they aren't out there, but they rarely bother. However those who may have a car with a slight defect or question will post there, and you may find some of the common questions people have had about the 9-3 convertibles in general as well as the 2002 9-3 specifically. Of course, all of this is not really that important - your wife has already made your mind up! 8^) Curious - what would be your choice for a rag-top?
