Subject: Re: what about anti-thief solutions in Saab models?

The first step in theft prevention is to own a car that no one wants to steal. The older Saabs were the least reported stolen car in the US. The strange ignition key location baffles many people, including casual thieves. The non-synchro reverse and strange first gear in the manual causes problems for many people as well. Last, but not least is the general opinion that Saab are strange looking. All of these, plus the incredible depreciation rate discourage most thieves. There is not much demand for stolen parts and a lime green 1985 900 is really easy for the Police to spot.
