FYI Had the A/C stop functioning this week. Inside fans continue to work fine, fuses in dash fuse box fine, fuses and relay under hood fine. A call to the dealer and mechanic immediately indicated that I needed a new compressor ($1340.00 CDN + installation) and chap in the parts department indicated more likely out of freon. Upon some snooping, and wiring the magnetic clutch of the compressor directly to 12V from the battery, wonder of wonders, click and A/C working fine. There is a thermal couple safety switch located on the compressor (screws in) and the power for the magnetic clutch must pass through it before getting to the clutch. To confirm the thermal switch is defective, reconnected the original line from the thermal switch to the magnetic clutch and applied power directly from the battery - no joy. New thermal switch is about $ 98.00 Cdn, a long way from the original estimate.. Hope this info is of some use for someone. (PS. I have the actual troubleshooting procedure from the service manual if required.) Brian
