Subject: FS: Whale Tail and Metal Louvres in MD
My 3-door is on its way out and it had a whale tail plus louvres..
Whale tail info: do not have the original mounting screws or body
gasket (this is how it came). It's in OK shape. During it use via the
previous owner ice or something got wedges in the rubber lip of the
tail and expanded. So, there is a buldge of about 3/4 of an inch at
this spot. However, if one had the time it could be repaired.
The Lourvres: very good shape, and, I have the mounting hardware...
somewhere. I am still locating that, but, I do remember how it mounted
and I can instruct someone to make the hardware. It basically works
like this: a plate with double sided foam-tape goes against the glass.
This plate has two threaded studs. The louvre hinge goes over it (the
louvre hinge has two oblong slots in it for positioning) then you put
a plate on top of it which have to holes for the studs to go through
and then you tighten it down with lock nuts. Once could easilly take a
bit of aluminium flashing, counter sink two screws or threaded studs,
and there you go.
I am in MD.. I won't give my phone # out here, since, my email is
posted and i get spammed relentlessly now: yuri_sopko Return to Main Index
