In this case, that would be me, and I've consulted all local responders who drive Saab 9-5's, which would also be, er, me. > There > may even be an official set of specifications -- best to find out > now, not after the job is complete. Not a problem. The Wisconsin state laws for emergency vehicle lighting are quite clear (and simply written, oddly enough!), in that the lights are to be red, or red/white, flashing, and visible from 360 degrees around the car. With those flashing lights and a siren that is audible at (distance), the vehicle is, by definition, an emergency vehicle. It's not so much "What do I have to use", but "Where can I bolt them, without defacing the appearance of the car, or causing problems later on". I've sent an email to the Police Chief of Vail, Colorado, where they use 9-5's. Hopefully he'll get back to me with the name of the mechanic in his department, and I'll be able to get drawings, plans, or even buy some components from them. Dave Hinz
