I am surprised no one hs chimed in with suggestions re the 9000 series ... but for the bottom end of your price range or even a few thousand less you should have no trouble finding an absolutely pristine 9000 CSE or Aero from 1996 or 1997. Lots of arguments as to wthe 9000 or the 9-5 is the better car and I am not going to start in on that but you should look at these.
