Subject: Re: 93 Aero Hot, Viggen and whats this all about

--------------DB287D0F9373DF0DFBEC11FB Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Not a stupid question, The Viggens were only produced in the 1999 and 2000 model years (as far as I remember), so you can't get new ones any more. They are 9-3s with a 230 or 235 bhp engine, and the "popular motoring press" tended to think they were too powerful (too much torque steer etc) The aero version of the 9-3 is only 205 bhp and apparently that's an easier proposition for handling etc etc. so for every day driving without any nasty surprises, then the aero would probably be the better bet. Of all the new 9-3s you won't have bought the "wrong" one with the aero model - it's the most powerful / fastest / desirable and s on. Saab fans tended to aspire to the Viggen though, and overlooked the torque steer and handling gremlins (much like when the 900 turbo 16 s (or the 900 SPG in the US) was around).
